On the 28th of December the first of the four ship-to-shore container cranes destined for PSA Voltri-Prà left Shanghai aboard the Zhen Hua 24. The new cranes are expected to arrive at Voltri in the first week of March.
The operation is part of the expansion project for PSA Voltri-Prà that includes the arrival of eight new ship-to-shore container cranes during 2016 together with a series of enterprises aimed at creating a quicker, safer and more modern container terminal.
The new cranes are produced by ZPMC and have the latest generation specifications such as a lifting height of fifty three metres and a fender outreach of twenty five rows. Thanks to this investment, PSA Voltri-Prà will be the first Italian container terminal capable of catering for Ultra Large and New Panamax ships up to 20K TEU.
We would like to wish all the crew of the Zhen Hua 24 a safe journey.
