The last 24 months here at VTE certainly haven’t been “business as usual.” In this period, the terminal has changed radically, thanks to a strategic plan that has made it one of the most advanced stop-overs in Italy and in the whole Mediterranean.
There are many great innovations: eight new quay cranes of the latest generation, new fenders and bitts, extension of the reefer park, renovation of the internal railway and many other technological advances, which all make VTE an excellent example of global maritime transport.
The results explain why: in 2017, the volume of traffic has consistently increased. New services stop-over at our terminal with ships of dimensions unheard of before two years ago. Today, we are able to handle ships of up to 15K TEU and larger, without limits, day and night. These are the results of courageous choices, careful planning, and, above all, of our most important capital – the 660 men and women who work every day to create a faster, safer, and more efficient terminal.
Much has been done, but much is left to do. Our vision, however, remains always the same: create a container terminal of the future. It is a vision that we pursue alongside our partners, suppliers, clients, institutions, and all the organizations that believe in innovation that brings development, employment, and environmental sustainability.
Our latest video shares an image of VTE today – who we are and the path that we are taking. A vision of the future.
