On April 27, the m/v Hyundai Hope (13 KTEU – 366 meters LOA) was the last vessel calling at Genoa VTE on the Loop M service powered by the G6 Alliance (Hapag Lloyd, NYK, OOCL, MOL, HMM, APL).
The Loop M service started calling at VTE in 2005, when the operators on this trade were only four: Hapag Lloyd, NYK, OOCL and MISC under the GRAND ALLIANCE consortium. In 2010, Hyundai Merchant Marine, APL, and MOL also joined the group, now called the G6; meanwhile MISC got out of the shipping scene.
This is the end of an era, and we deemed to pay a visit to the master to celebrate this special call with our colorful crest.
